<p id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_p841916249423">Default parameter templates cannot be replicated, but you can create parameter templates based on the default ones.</p>

Under <strong id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_en-us_topic_0000001269051661_b54280783595932">Database</strong>, click <strong id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_en-us_topic_0000001269051661_b74413043995932">Document Database Service</strong> to go to the DDS console.</span></li><li id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_li819872812411"><span>In the navigation pane on the left, click <span class="uicontrol" id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_uicontrol15493358115315"><b>Parameter Template Management</b></span>.</span></li><li id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_li2092404712414"><span>On the <span class="uicontrol" id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_uicontrol261913441269"><b>Parameter Template Management</b></span> page, select the <span class="uicontrol" id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_uicontrol196201449617"><b>Clusters</b></span>, <span class="uicontrol" id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_uicontrol146219441965"><b>Replica Sets</b></span>, or <span class="uicontrol" id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_uicontrol062144416620"><b>Single Nodes</b></span> tab, locate the parameter template you want to replicate and click <strong id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_b1462204416618">Replicate</strong> in the <strong id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_b5622344769">Operation</strong> column.</span></li><li id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_li16809153410541"><span>In the displayed dialog box, enter the parameter template name and description and click <strong id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_b207334411135317">OK</strong>.</span><p><ul id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_ul18410132485810"><li id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_li17796343114812"><strong id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_b1990335318486">New Parameter Template</strong>: The template name can be 4 to 64 characters long and starts with a letter. It can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.).</li><li id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_li154101241581"><strong id="dds_03_0013__en-us_topic_0000001269171533_b783603312556">Description</strong>: The description contains a maximum of 256 characters and cannot include line breaks or the following special characters: >!<"&'=</li></ul>
